Pedrito’s Bakeshop and Restaurant – Dagupan City, Pangasinan

Looking for a place to eat and relax in the heart of Dagupan City?

Try this old Filipino-Mexican bakeshop and restaurant named Pedrito which means “Little Pedro”.
The success of this old yet remarkable bakeshop and restaurant way back 1980’s was not as easy as cooking pasta but truly has a fascinating story behind it that made it stronger through the years.
Pedrito’s humble beginning with Linda and Pete, the power couple who had the determination, willpower and courage to start a business that made this  bakeshop and restaurant possible.
Pedrito’s was firstly established as a bakeshop and it’s first bread offered in the market was Ensaymada.
As of today, Pedrito’s have expanded its bread product line into different kinds of breads that will suit each and every tastebud.

From pastries, they are also offering cakes for any occassions.

Pedrito’s restaurant on the other hand offers wide range of Filipino cuisines and few of famous Mexican dishes.

The restaurant has the touch of Mexican style, with Mexican hats and scarfs everywhere.

To enhance the appetite of its customers, Pedrito’s has a residential band that gracefully sings, both new and old songs that are friendly to the eardrums.
These Filipino home-cooked foods are offered in affordable prices.

They also have seafoods corner (all grilled), for those who are really craving for seafoods at its finest.

They even have different Filipino desserts of your choice:

They also have different native cakes. Yay!

Pedrito’s as mentioned, also offers Mexican dishes such as Nachos and Paella to name a few.
Now here’s the Paella station, yes.
Since the place is full of tourists and visitors from other cities, they make sure of having the Chi-chiria Station which offers different corn and other products from different cities (for those tourists who have no time to roam around the city and want to buy something local).

My best-friend, Lj and I went there to have our lunch and experience the home-cooked foods and old recipes of Pedrito’s. And here’s what we had:

The mouthwatering Bulalo which only costs P200.00 (2-3 persons sharing).

And the yummy Chopseuy which is not really that costly (can’t recall the exact price but I’m guessing it for about P60-P70 only (good for 2 persons sharing).
Deliciously served, oh yes!
Wait, there’s more.. Aside from the different desserts presented earlier, Pedrito’s also offers gelato ice cream!

Hey, they have coffee too! (I can surely live here!)

What else to look for? Guess all that a traveler needs are all in Pedrito’s.
And for those who are looking for a venue to gather with family and friends, you may also include Pedrito’s as one of your choices as they also offer function halls for special gatherings.

*I was not able to get rates but soon I will have, as we are eyeing this place to hold our Grandma’s 80th Birthday. I’ll get you updated on this so you have the idea too. 🙂
Pedrito’s is a good place for family and friends who are craving for tasty and home-cooked Filipino dishes.
Pedrito’s is located at Tapuac District, Dagupan City.
It’s never too late to explore. With this, have a happy feet!

Madie’s Place Guest House – Sta. Rosa, Laguna

Since the plan of getting out of the business district is pushed through on a weekend, we have to look of where to stay so it won’t give us a headache later on during the getaway.

I have been searching for affordable hotels and guest houses that offer comfort and is accessible, to add on the list to choose from.
Thanks to the Internet, I came across different hotels and for rent rooms situated in Laguna which is practical and wise to stay in since we will be visiting Nuvali Park and Paseo de Sta. Rosa.
Also, thanks to, and some of the other reliable blogs about a certain guest house which is in the neighborhood of Enchated Kingdom in Balibago Complex — Madie’s Place.
Madie’s Place address is Phase 1A Blk 21 Lot 46 San Lorenzo. From Nuvali Park or Paseo de Sta. Rosa, you have to ride a tricycle going to Waltermart, Balibago for P20.00 worth of fare.
From Waltermart, you have to go to the side to the tricycle terminal awaiting for your to aboard. You just have to tell the driver the address and you literally pass by the Enchanted Kingdom, fare at P40.00 (for 2 pax).
Madie’s Place is situated inside a subdivision and you might have a second thought if you are really going to the right place (since pictures uploaded in their Facebook has trees and beautiful garden).
After about 10 minutes or less, finally we arrived at our destination. A wooden gate with Madie’s Place signage hanging on top of the gate, though I was not able to see it the moment we arrived as it will not catch your attention because of its level.

This is the gate from the inside.

The moment we walked in, we were greeted by polite people who have been part of the Madie’s Place team.

Now this is Madie’s Place Guest House.

The atmosphere is really different from the outside residential, you won’t believe that there is such a place hidden in the heart of a city. It felt like we were in a new dimension as the place is full of green, the architectural design of the house has a touch of american style and there is no noise pollution, oh yes.

So, let me tour you to this wonderful place…

This is the garden I’ve mentioned. So green and relaxing, indeed.

What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon here!

Yeah, yeah. The cuteness! I couldn’t agree more!

Now, this is one of my favorite spots. Just before the entrance of the house where the rooms are located is a blue-green dining set designed with different collections from different countries. This is still part of the veranda.
One of the things why this place is so relaxing and so homey.

Welcome yo the cottage. The way to go the rooms.
The rooms are located on the attic part of the house.

Upon entering, there is a huge christmas tree with two sofa chair for guests. The lobby is designed as if you are just inside your own home.
There are rooms good for one person, two persons and even for family. As of the moment, there are about five rooms that are being rented by travelers.
You will be greeted with this basket of toiletries so you won’t need to think of where to shop in case you’re not able to bring your stuff.

And the cozy bed…

The room is so cute and simple. It has its own air conditioned unit and a flat television. But they don’t have (yet) a wired phone that would connect you to their service number for easy communication in case you need something. But I think, the concept of not having a phone in the room is to give visitors a peaceful sleep and rest as much as possible.

After putting all our things, I was really so excited to see the whole place. So I decided to stroll around the area and see what they’ve got.

I am so fascinated with the place’s garden. They have these picnic dining-sofa set where you could also spend the afternoon.

Well this spot is just so romantic! This place have already witnessed unforgettable and sweet events – weddings, engagement proposal and even birthday parties to name a few!

Well, I won’t slip the chance to be seated on this romantic chair and so with the help of Ms. Madie (the very kind owner of the place), we were able to experience one of the most romantic nights of our lives!

Isn’t it romantic? 🙂

And this romantic candle light dinner is a pocket-friendly happening! Don’t be too suspicious my friend, I know it really looks perfect but yes, it won’t hurt your pocket.

Here’s the menu for the night:

Have a candle light dinner for only P600!

Utensils are not ‘just’ utensils. Guess these are from other countries, same as some of the collections displayed in the veranda.

And oh! The heavenly-taste chocolate mousse cake! The yummiest cake we’ve ever tasted was not actually from well-know bakeries! Our jaw was left opened by the amazement we felt the sooner we knew that the yummiest cake we ate that night was baked by their 16-year old daughter! (I can’t even perfect baking my cupcakes. Boo! -_-) Too bad I don’t have a good shot of the cake (I can’t find it in my gallery, actually!)

So romantic! Did I already mention that there is a classical music that filled the garden that night? Oh yes, there is! And I won’t let the night slip away without dancing! The place is just so perfect!

The owners of Madie’s Place are really so sweet and no doubt that they have this kind of spot for lovers, friends or even to families celebrating special moments in their lives!

The night is long and that due to lack of sleep and beyond overwhelm feeling, the need to rest is already dominating our system. But before we close our eyes, Ms. Madie and husband gave us their own version of tarragon tea!

And that is one of the most relaxing nights, ever!

Before I came to life, I didn’t even know that there is already sunshine everywhere! That was one peaceful night for me. No alarm sounds, no vehicle and human noise! It feels like so province!

Oh it’s breakfast time!

How can I not love this place? ^_^

What not to like about this guest house? None! Excellent service, quality food, very clean rooms (the whole house actually!), wonderful garden and beautiful soul owners! I can live here, forever!

Our overall stay with Madie’s Place is superb! Rating it 5 stars! Well, now we’re inlove with guest house, better and more relaxing than hotels.
